Honeywell’s Nikhil Deulkar Joins the ioXt Alliance Board
Newport Beach, California – June 30, 2021 – The ioXt Alliance, the Global Standard for IoT Security, today announced the appointment of Nikhil Deulkar, Head of Product Management and Applications Engineering at Alerton, Honeywell’s premium building automation system brand, to its Board. Deulkar will be an instrumental part in shaping the ioXt Alliance’s work towards creating the internet of secure things.
“I am pleased to see increased awareness and ownership of cybersecurity in our top-tier enterprise customers,” said Deulkar, “The lack of industry-wide IoT security standards result in custom acceptance tests and paperwork for each customer and project, causing duplication, inefficiencies and red-tape that ultimately stifles growth and innovation. The ioXt Alliance’s industry-driven efforts of defining baseline security standards and compliance programs will work to solve these challenges, and I’m excited and proud to champion this initiative. Adoption of global standards will not only decrease IoT security compliance costs for top-tier enterprises but also reduce the barriers for rapid adoption of IoT security amongst medium and small size businesses, creating a more secure ecosystem.”
Deulkar has over 20 years of experience across silicon, hardware, software and SaaS products as well as direct, distribution and OEM-based businesses, and currently heads the product management and applications engineering teams for Alerton. His team is responsible for strategic planning and managing a portfolio of devices, software and services running HVAC systems in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, data centers, corporate campuses and government facilities. Prior to joining Honeywell, Deulkar was Director of Product Marketing at Impinj, where he drove adoption of RAIN RFID based IoT connections for everyday items.
“I am thrilled that the ioXt Alliance Board continues to expand with the addition of a market leader like Honeywell,” said Brad Ree, CTO, ioXt Alliance. “Nikhil’s extensive experience in a variety of commercial IoT device domains, including building controls, makes him an ideal addition to our team. We are eager to tap into his expertise as we seek to further develop and bring our global IoT security standards to industries that need them most.”
