We reached a major milestone this quarter and released
our first set of certified products. Google, T-Mobile,
Silicon Labs, Acuity, Leedarson and DSR led the way
in applying the ioXt Security Pledge to devices ranging
from light bulbs to cell phones, from dog collars to
building controls. You can see these devices on the
ioXt Alliance’s Certified Product page, along with many
more coming soon.
The Alliance also saw great growth in the commercial
lighting sector. Through the support of our members,
the DesignLights Consortium has adopted the ioXt
standard into their compliance program regulating
energy rebates. We now have many of the leading
lighting companies working with the Alliance to further
define security profiles for their market. To help guide
the Alliance, we have formed a Building Controls
Steering Committee, which is being chaired by Acuity
and Google.
I am also excited at the expansion of security profiles
for the consumer market, which will drive transparency |

of device security at time of purchase. Logitech and
Comcast are leading the residential camera profile.
Further, Google and Amazon are leading the Mobile
Application profile. Both profiles are very important to
drive consumers’ confidence in the cameras they place
in their homes and the applications they run on their
phones.
Our successful “Securing Android” Virtual Summit
delved into how Android and ioXt are partnering to secure
everything from cell phones to TVs and connected cars.
The Summit featured a keynote session by “Father of
the Internet” Vint Cerf and a 30-minute talk by Google’s
Dave Kleidermacher. Plus, we heard words of wisdom
from RelevantProgress’s Petr Peterka, Google’s Sudhi
Herle and Jorge Coronel, and T-Mobile’s Darren Kress.
Clearly, ioXt’s tech muscle is nothing short of amazing.
I encourage you to get involved and join one of the
many work groups ranging from technical to
public policy, marketing or strategy. I also want to thank
those contributing in the work group
meetings. |
